Proventia Desktop, or any personal firewall, is supposed to help protect your computer.  Then why, occasionally,  will your anti-virus program report a virus in the folder that Proventia Desktop is installed?

The files evd00x.enc contains evidence of previous suspicious traffic that Proventia Desktop detected.  It is an example of an ‘evidence file’ which can be turned off if desired.  It WILL CONTAIN the network packet that triggered a Proventia Desktop event.  Therefore, it is not surprising that an anti-virus program would flag it as a problem.

It is recommended that the Proventia Desktop installation folder be excluded from Anti-Virus scanning to keep these alerts from happening.  Or, as an alternative, the Proventia Desktop administrator can disable the evidence file from being created.
